ABOUT KATE

Big energy. Real heart. An experience your audience won't forget.

Kate Garnes has spent over a decade working with youth, and she sees in today's teens the same drive for perfection she once felt herself. From being told she was never "good enough" to creating magic for thousands as a performer at Walt Disney World, Kate transformed her negative narrative and became her own hero. Not because anyone saved her, but because she learned how to save herself. And now she's dedicated her life to helping students do the same.

YOUTH KEYNOTE

Find Your Battle Cry: Stop Making Excuses & Take Your Life Back

Every day, teens are bombarded with voices — from social media, from peers, and sometimes from their own families — that tell them they aren’t enough. Those messages become recordings that play over and over, shaping how they see themselves and what they believe they can do.

Kate takes students on a journey through her own battle with negative self-talk — from the damaging words that echoed from childhood into adulthood, to how she learned to rewrite the story playing in her head. Through humor, honesty, and heart, Kate equips students with practical tools to recognize negative self-talk the moment it starts, build new, positive recordings rooted in confidence and self-worth, and take ownership of their mindset.

TEEN WORKSHOP

Say What?!? How The Words We Say (And Don't Say) Can Affect The Way We Lead

All humans ultimately want three things: to be seen, heard, and understood. When one of those things is missing, that’s when people stop being friendly — and when leadership breaks down.

In this interactive workshop, Kate shows students the importance of recognizing how to see, hear, and understand others — even when it’s not easy. Students leave with hands-on actions to take back to their communities to help create an engaging and safe environment where everyone feels seen, heard, and understood.

SCHOOL ASSEMBLY

High-Energy School Assemblies

Every day, students are surrounded by voices telling them who they should be, what they should look like, and whether they are “enough.” Over time, those voices can turn into an internal soundtrack—one that plays on repeat and shapes their confidence, choices, and sense of self.

In this engaging, high-energy assembly, Kate invites students into a real, relatable conversation about negative self-talk. Through personal stories, humor, and powerful moments of reflection, she shares her own journey of overcoming the limiting beliefs that followed her from childhood into adulthood—and how she learned to take back control of the narrative in her mind.

Students will leave not only feeling seen and understood but also equipped with practical tools they can use immediately to shift their mindset, build confidence, and step into who they are meant to be.
ADULT & EDUCATOR WORKSHOP

Selfcare Is Not Selfish

As educators, it’s easy to become completely depleted by giving everything to students, the administration, family, and the community. In this workshop, Kate walks advisors through a series of lessons to help them and their student leaders realize that the best way to be the leaders they can be is to take care of themselves first.
